A family named after basil
S&R Beauty is a family business from Cairo. Our family name, Riyhan, is the Arabic word for basil, so it was only natural that basil was where we began.
Today we make skin, body and hair care from more than ninety percent natural ingredients, made only in licensed facilities in Egypt and Dubai, and priced for real life rather than for a shelf.

Where it began
Around the family table
It started the way many good things in Egypt start: with the family sitting together, wanting to build something that was ours. Not just a business. Something different, and something that meant something.
We had spent years walking the beauty exhibitions, in Egypt and abroad, Dubai among them. What stayed with us was never the stands. It was the making: how a plant becomes an oil, how an oil becomes a cream, how much care goes into a jar before anyone opens it.
Our founder had always loved that idea. She wanted to make something she would use herself, and she kept finding the same gap on the shelves: what was good was expensive, and what was affordable was limited. With the family behind her, she decided to close that gap herself.
Good care should not be a luxury.
Where it started: our first labels read Basil & Co.
The name
Riyhan means basil
In Arabic, our family name and the herb are the same word: ريحان, Riyhan, basil. So when it came to choosing the first ingredient, there was no discussion. Basil was already ours.
We started as Basil & Co, and basil went into everything we made. It is still at the heart of the range today: with lemon and peppermint in the face cleanser, with honey in the body lotion, with coconut in the body oil, and in the glycerin soaps we shape by hand.
If you have an old bottle with a Basil & Co label on your shelf, it is the same family, and the same care, that made this one.

Growing up
Then you asked for more than basil
The people who used our products wanted more than basil alone could give: more for their hair, more for their scalp, more for every kind of skin.
So we listened, and the garden grew: argan and jojoba for hair, rosemary for the scalp, vitamin E through the range, tea tree, coconut, aloe vera, shea butter, oat, licorice and more. Each one chosen for a job, never for the label.
A garden that size needed a name that could hold all of it. Basil & Co became S&R Beauty. Same family, same basil at the root, just a bigger table.

Where we started, and still our signature. Fresh and clarifying: with lemon and peppermint it clears the pores in the cleanser, and it keeps skin feeling fresh and awake in the body lotion.

From the hive
Nourishes the skin and helps it hold on to its moisture. Paired with basil in the body lotion, for skin that stays soft long after the shower.

Deep hydration with a soft, pearly glow instead of grease. The base of our body oil, and part of the blend that tames frizz in the hair serum.

The repair oil. It works on damaged hair and brings back its shine, which is why it runs through all three of our hair products.

Intense moisture that keeps hair from turning dry and brittle. Light enough to leave strands soft and manageable, never heavy.

Soothes the scalp and supports healthy hair growth. One of the plants we added when the range grew beyond basil.

Calms and moisturises. It is why our SPF 50 sunscreen cares for your skin while it protects it, and why the serum feels soothing, not sticky.

Rich, deep hydration. It is what makes our body scrub nourish while it polishes, so skin feels velvety after rinsing, never tight.

The gentle side of the scrub. Oat and white lupine soothe rough patches, and licorice helps brighten and even out the skin tone.

Not a sponge, a plant: the dried fruit of the luffa vine, cut by hand. It exfoliates, wakes up circulation, and with a little care lasts for months.

What makes us different

Being natural is our position, not a trend we picked up. More than ninety percent of what goes into our products comes from nature, and every ingredient we add has to earn its place.
Then come the details, which is where we spend most of our time. The texture as it meets your skin. The scent that stays with you after. The weight of a jar in your hand. How a gift box feels to open, down to the last fold of paper. Every box leaves us packed by hand.
None of it is complicated. It just takes care, and care is the one thing we never make cheaper.

Natural only counts if it is also safe. We only manufacture in places that hold the right licences and certificates, every raw material we use is licensed and certified, and our products are registered with the Ministry of Health. As we grew, production expanded from Egypt to Dubai, under the same standards.
